Robert Remek- Music Director
Dr. Robert Remek serves as Director of Music for First Presbyterian Church.
Here are some fun facts about Dr. Robert:
- Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I have been a church musician in South Florida for over 35 years, serving as Director of Music and Organist for both Roman Catholic and Protestant congregations. I earned three degrees from the University of Miami: a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance, magna cum laude, a Master of Music degree in choral conducting, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance. I am a full-time humanities professor at Miami Dade College, and I also teach organ at the University of Miami.
- What motivates you in your work here at the church, and what do you like most about you do?
I appreciate the opportunity to lead people in worship through music. I have especially enjoyed working with the people in the music ministry. They are extraordinarily faith-filled, caring, and devoted to their service in the church’s choir and handbell choir.
- What does your faith mean to you? How does it help you in your daily life?
My faith is my comfort, my guide, and my hope in the midst of the ups and downs of life.
- What are some of the things you like to do?
I enjoy spending time with my wife Mary Jo, travel, and watching football when I can.
