Children’s Ministries at FPC
At First Presbyterian, we take seriously the commitment to children and their families. It’s why we’ve centered our vision around seeing families transformed by the love of Jesus in Hollywood and beyond. It’s why thirty years ago, we started a preschool that has now expanded to serve children and families from one years of age all the way through elementary. It’s why we’ve partnered with our local elementary school and have developed a home for HIV kids in Haiti.
And that commitment continues on Sunday morning, with professional childcare in our nursery right off a lobby designed so that parents with young children can see and hear the worship service while caring for their kids. And for children of preschool age, (4 and up), your children join you for a brief time as worship begins, and then after a prayer with Pastor Kennedy go to a program specifically designed for them, Good News Kidz. This program focuses on all the ways that children learn and is staffed by dedicated volunteers who have gone through thorough background checks and undergo regular training. There your children will experience creative Bible based lessons that will not only help them know Jesus’ love, but grow in them their own relationship with God. We truly believe a church can be an extended family, a community where children can feel, as we put it in words we use at baptism, bathed in a sanctuary of belonging. At First Presbyterian, your children will feel welcome and included part of a warm and diverse family of faith that truly cares for them.
